Why You Should Watch
Your baby's language skills are rolling right along now, at this stage they can respond to simple questions phrased consistently, and it's pretty exciting the first time you ask, "Do you want your milk?" and they smile and reach for their bottle. Understand from your child's perspective why repetition and simple, consistent phrases help their understanding. It's a great time to play imitation games with your baby too. Games like 'Where's Baby's Nose?' help their language development and help you have fun together.
What you'll see from a baby's eye view:
- Why repetition makes it easy for baby to learn
- Why your baby loves imitating you
- Why baby games are about a lot more than just playing
What you'll discover:
- How talking, playing games and reading to your child helps develop their language skills
- How consistent phrasing makes understanding easier for your baby
- That many language skills are instinctive, but a lot of them are also learned
Understanding the role repetition and practice play in your child's language development makes it easier to be patient when it feels like you're saying and doing the same things over and over again.
