Why You Should Watch
Every baby's language skills develop at their own pace – girls often talk sooner than boys for example – but along the way they all hit certain milestones and vocalizing is baby's way of producing their own language models. Like scales on a musical instrument, it's best to just listen to them and not break up their rhythm. Get your baby's perspective on how what you say is important, but how you say it is important too as baby's modeling their language on yours. Using warm, encouraging, funny and loving words will encourage your baby to learn language more quickly.
What you'll see from a baby's eye view:
- Why babies love to practice their babbling
- Just how much attention babies are paying to everything you say
- How your baby's social needs are beginning to overtake her biological needs
What you'll discover:
- Why it's important to talk slowly and clearly to your baby
- When to just listen and when to communicate with your baby
- Why your baby's a unique individual who'll do things in their own time
Understanding how you're the best role model for language development for your baby gives you great insight into what you can do to help your baby start babbling like a brook.
