Get an infant's perspective on why newborns cry, what they need (hint: you) and why staying calm will help you and your baby. You'll also pick up easy parenting tips that will help reassure you and your child that crying is normal newborn behavior as your baby adjusts to the big, wide world they've been thrust into.

  • Why it's important to keep calm when your baby's upset
  • Why babies seem to cry more at night than in the daytime

The more understanding you have of why newborns cry, the better equipped you'll be to handle their emotions, and your own.

cries and cries

Our 2 mo. old, cries and cries every night - kicking his arms and legs wildly. We've tried everything we can think of to comfort him. Rocking, walking, swaddling, massaging, singing lullabies. Sometimes it takes 20 minutes - sometimes 2 hours. It is definitely trying, but we know that we won't give up trying to comfort him, because he's learning to trust that we'll be here for him. We have to keep this mind, when we're at our wits end!
